You need the cd unit romover keys to remove your head unit.if you have a local stereo shop like best buy or mom and pop shop you can get them to pop it out for you. sometimes when you buy a head unit, they sometimes come with the keys to pop that sucker out.
If you take it to a automotive sound shop, they will remove it and give it back to you for future reinstall or whatever. If you have a new unit put in at the same time, there will be no charge for the removal, and if you bought the new unit there, probably no charge for install except for additional parts needed. Think about it, the time you save is worth the couple of bucks and the grief and trouble.
