Answers:
several options
>an FM transmitter to convert the MP3 output into a FM radio frequency that can be picked up on your car radio (about £10..20)
> if your car has a cassette tape player then a cassette tape adaptor
> a car with an auxillary input
buy an FM sender, it sends the signal from your MP3 player to a blank station on your radio, though they are currently illegal to use in the UK the law on this is under review at the moment.
I'm not sure of any docking stations meant for a Sony mp3 player, but if you ask a store im sure they'lll tell you. although, for me, i have a cassete player and i just use that for my mp3 player. i buy one of those tapes that has a wire and looks like this..

i then connect it to my mp3 player, and then it starts working. Works better than an FM reciever, because you dont revieve any static.
Well, hope your car stereo still carries tape deck. I bought one of those cassette tapes converters that became popular with the CD players, sound's great and compatibility is the same!
Replace your stereo with a newer one that has a 3.5mm jack input in it. You can then plug the earphone lead into it and get a much better sound then those dodgy FM transmitter jobbies.

forget the tapes-on-a-wire as well, they sound naff due to lack of frequency.
buy an fm transmitter with audio jack will transmit through your radio belkin make one available from maplin it will work with any fm radio car home or portable saves having wires everywhere.

i bought a fm reciever for mine off ebay for 1p and £3 postage easiest way to do it
