Does jetwash ruin the cars paintwork?for 10pts?
Answers:
Yes and No, not if you use proper soap and don't spray it right at the paint hold it so that it hits the paint of your car side-on, this is a better tactic anyway as the water washes the whole area. You will always get little scratches but if you love your car and t-cut it every now and then your car will be nice and sparkly clean.
The problem with the carwash is stones and little bits of grit get stuck into the bristles of the roller brushes.
Hope i have answered your question.
Use a combination of jet wash and brush.
Don't get the jet lance too close to the paintwork though.
always been fine when ive jet washed mine
i clean mine with a jet wash every weekend and it hasnt caused any damage to my paintwork
No a jet wash shouldn't damage a cars paintwork (unless it's already damaged that is). The big car washers do but that's because the bristles on the brushes cause tiny scratches each go which build up over time.
No.
Proper industrial jetwashes should be ok, as they use powerful chemicals to clean the car and then allow you to blast the soap off, but the portable ones that they sell in halfords and the like, can cause damage, as they rely more on high pressure water blasting the dirt off
No, but it doesn't clean it much either.
I have used them many times and never been scratched. Just take care. And if they do, complain!
as long as you keep nozzle a reasonable distance from your car you should be ok but that all depends on the paint job is it original or was car resprayed.
i have over 20 years paint spraying expierence and have had to put right some horrible messes caused by ppl not doing job right first time round.
yes it does
Well,no it doesn't.When a car is tested at the factory they would do anythin to destroy it ,heat it at over 300degrees, freeze it at -100degrees,so actually jetwash doesn't ruin a car's paintwork unless you changed the colour at a local garage.
Not if you use it sensibly.
Position the nozzle at an angle and keep it at least 12 inches away from the bodywork.
Don't use it on any area of paintwork with damage particularly a clear lacquered finish.
no spray paint an tooth paste, or paint ball pallet's
It don't harm the paint, just keep away from locks, vents, and be careful with any damaged painted plastic trim.
frequent use of a jet wash at petrol stations will cause the paint to loose its shine (go flat) due to the high amount of salt used as a water softener. also if the brush has been on the ground it could contain grit which could scratch the car. if you do plan to use a jet wash on a regular basis make sure you wax your car to protect its shine
if paint is old and flaky yes be careful if paint is on plastic bumpers some jet washes have different pressures find out by the way hand washing is the best way to wash vehicle allows u to see any blemishes or dents or other stuff with vehicle also u know what soap is going on that fine paint job. just a thought.
