Been offered a alfa romeo 2.4 JTD turismo 2002 cheap, but its got 116,000 miles on it.,what do you think?
Answers:
With a 2002 Alfa Romeo deprecation should be no problem, if it is priced in. More important is service history and running cost for service and Diesel. I own 2002 AR 166 3.0 fully loaded, running on gas. It is lots of fun, but costly items on the service come on the service list with 200000 km. With this make the belt driving the overhead camshaft and ignitors have to be changed for the second time at to 240000 and at 200000 km, which are both rather complicated operations this make. It can be different with the 2.4 JTD. Rust is no problem with mine. Obviously with the 3.0-Liter gasoline model gas cost are running high: 11-12 l/100 km. Should be less of a problem with the JTD, but also higher than a comparable Audi or similar.
If its got full service history, no prob
The miles are a factor, but they also could be highway miles or just city miles. IN any event 116K on the odometer is not that bad. If it is in good shape and runs great buy it.
if the vehicle is diesel,,the mileage is nothing, but petrol,do not touch it
No, don't. Alfas tend to depreciate VERY quickly. You won't like that. Buy a volkswagen golf (1999), if it has good mileage + service history. or buy a Honda Civic. The toyota aygo is an excellent buy as well.
ILL BE GLAD TO TAKE IT, DOES THIS ANSWER YOUR QESTION? GO FOR IT
alfa romeo is a GOOOOOOD car but only when you buy it new or with 2-3 years old, because after that car become shaky and engines in alfa are not so good.
