Warning Light in Vauxhall Corsa - SRi 1995 model. help!?
Answers:
the light that comes on is your engine managment its a common fault on corsa 1.2 16v and 1.4 16v aswell as 1.4 sri 16v
Just go to the dealership and ask for a check-up. A similar thing happened with my car a while back. It turned out it was some obscure light we never used that needed changing.
It sounds like the engine management light, have a closer loOK it should be the shape of an engine and comes on briefly when the engine is started. If it goes out again everything is ok, if it stays on then the engine will run on a back up program but should be checked out asap.
sounds like its the engine management light and it should go out when you start the engine, if it doesnt then you have a fault, on a vauxhall it goes in to whats called "limp home mode" you need to find a garage that has a code reading machine as the faults are logged in a code system with number, and each fault has a different number, once the code hads been read it will point you in the direction of the problem, however it needs a careful investigation as it might not be the true fault it might say a sensor has a low voltage etc but it might not be the sensor it could be the power supply for the sensor or a wiring fault or an earth fault, just make sure you use an established garage
from your decription it could be that the car is due for servicing
or the car has been hammered (lol)
Its the engine management control light it has picked up a fault with the system. Its in the shape of an engine block with a lightning flash in the middle of it. You need to get the code read out recorded on your ECU its not a big job this will lead the technician in the direction of fault.Regards Mick UK work on them.
I have the same problem, only my light some times coming and disappearing, and every three or four days my batteres go on.So its go na be some thing with earth, like some one says in answers. But garage says, that i must buy new O2 sensor,so I must think about it before pay money.
