Can you repair runflat tyres with puncture in centre of tread on a mini cooper s?
Answers:
Check out what the tyre manufacturer and car handbook says.
I had a BMW one done last year and had no problems, it was a lease car and the company policy was to fix.
If you are getting it fixed make sure the tyre fitter has the right training and knows how to set up the tyre pressure monitor again.
Good luck.
Yes. The runflat tech is system that supports the sidewalls, tread should be repairable no problem.
i am a mechanic and there is a debate whether you can or cant because the rubber is so thick you cant tell if any cords are broke. many garages wont repair them for liability reasons
Doesn't matter what it's on, if it has been run while flat then it has a very-VERY good chance of separating on you the first time you get on the hi-way if it doesn't bump and shake from the get go!
no runflat tyres should not be repaired, the reason been on a normal tyre you can see if there is any damage to the sidewall of the tyre but on a runflat tyre because the sidewall is so thick you cant tell if it is damaged. im sure there is garages out there that will fix it but it is not worth the risk.
