Any one ever had an Allegro car my brother still has his, takes it for a drive quite regulary?
Answers:
They didn't call them all agros for nothing. One of the final nails in the coffin of the then British Leyland. He ought to keep it. Everyone else threw theirs away, so it will be quite valuable one day.
Please could you go and do grammar !!

Yes i had one, it was Maroon in colour and it was like driving a tank full of water, the springs were rubbish and the gearbox was awfull too, but i still liked it as it was my own transport and that meant freedom :-)
Yes I brought an Allegro Vanden Plas about 12 years ago for £70 with what must have been a dodgy mot. The car was cream with beautiful leather interior, and I loved it until the drive shaft pulled out and left me stranded for hours, lucky it was only a couple of miles from home.
As I had disabled myself and was unable to carry on my work, I deceided to get it done up. A friend was going to do the respray as he was in that line of work and I had a cheap machanic. I did all the graft like removing locks and fittings and all the preparation, and I ended up with the most beautiful dark maroon car with a chrome grill like a Bentley. Never took the car out again except to polish and clean it but sold it a year later for £1200.with no mot.
Repairing the car took me to the breakers yards for spare parts , and during one for my trips I followed an Allegro and stopped outside the yard along side it, talking to the guy I said how lovely the shine was, he said it was his dads and he couldn't drive any more. If I gave him the fourty quid he would get for it, I could have it, so he drove it home for me.
My idea was to run out the last two months mot and scrap it. As it ran like a sewing machine, only had 65.000 on it. I took it in for an mot and it needed £28 plus mot. I ran it for two years. It failed on bodywork so it still sits by my store today, don't think it will start first time now though.
