Hatchback door on Mondeo does not always open from button when pressed inside the car any ideas to the fault?

This fault is intermtant

Answers:
Its the connection going to the central locking solenoid in the rear hatch, A wire may be loose or the solenoid may be on its way out, Easy to repair through the panel in the boot, a replacement should cost about £5 from your local scrap yard or £25 from Ford dealers.
You aren't pressing the button correctly.
the hatch could be out of alignment or the release could be loose
you need to point it at the sensor, or maybe you need new bateries in the key fob
i have the same problem. there's a switch in the boot, 1 way it allows the switch 2 work, the other way it stops the switch working, it may have been pushed so that it's in the middle. but mine's gone the same way now and it's not the switch in the boot, if u find out would u let me know plz?
check the connections on switch i had same problem with escort good luck
if it an intermittent fault, then is probably a loose wire, bad connection, or a break in a wire. just get a multimeter, set it to find resistance, and go along the wires, and check for a high resistance, there Ur problem.

move the wires as U do it it will help to find broken wires.

next time it doesn't work, see if there are any factors that are the same each time it doesn't work, even in the position of Ur body, as U may be putting pressure on a wire, making a poor connection
spray some lubricant on the the lock mechanism.
if it doesnt make a noise wen u press the button ur motor probly shagged easy to replace
