What is the actual weight of a one and a half ton truck?
Answers:
a 1 1/2 ton truck is rated to CARRY 1 1/2 tons it comes from the original military ratings for trucks ( as an aside the Jeep was rated as a 1/2 ton truck )
just to put to rest the above answers a Chevrolet C-10 is considered a 1/2 ton truck and a C-20 is a 3/4 ton truck and they both weigh around 2 tons
3000 lbs or better
3000 pounds.
one and a half tonnes or over :)
If it's designed to carry 1.5 ton, a lot. My one ton Dodge weighs 10,500 lbs.
A ONE AND A HAFT TON TRUCK MEANS IT WILL HOLD ONE AND A HAFT TONS IN THE BED.
[If it's designed to carry 1.5 ton, a lot. My one ton Dodge weighs 10,500 lbs.]
Your Dodge DOES NOT weigh 10,500 lbs. I assume you found this on the sticker inside the drivers door.
That 10,500 is the GVWR, that mean it is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. That is the MAXIMUM amount of weight the truck can handle and weigh FULLY LOADED.
Your Dodge One Ton will probably tip the scales around 4600lbs depending on style, and engine.
So you take the 4600lbs, and subtract 10,500lbs this leaves you with 5900lbs of cargo capacity in the bed.
