Should I buy a new honda Civic?

I'm looking at a new Honda Civic as my second car, what do you all think of them?

Answers:
Well, they are well screwed together, they hold onto their value well and are undoubtedly reliable. Not desperately keen on the look of the new one though, from behind they look awful, i'd be tempted to go for the old Type R, quality motor and quick with it.
Honda makes a good car. Most people who have them like them.
These days, most cars are pretty good cars!
very reliable. good choice. good resale value.
Bit tinny but ok, nice engines.
If it was me Volkswagen.
I love mine - it is the Civic Hybrid.
Had it for 3 1/2 years - never goes wrong - dealer excellent.
Build quality feels great too.
If you want to.they are good cars get good gas millage and run for every
yes!
Yes but also look at the new VW Rabbit for a great alternative
Greeaaat.

The Honda Civic lasts well and gets good gas mileage. The hybrid cars are an advantage for sure.

Still I love my Toyota Matrix Hatchback
yeah, honda civics are cool, but i prefer jeeps
Excellent gas mileage but not a lot of space for long trips. Unless you like shifting a lot go with the automatic.
Hello. I would tell you that you don't go wrong with Honda. That's why they are expensive. I own a Honda and you can tell the difference if you try same class cars of other makes. Besides that Honda gives a ridiculously amount of miles per gallon. My Honda Civic 2002 gives me between 350 and 400 miles each tank. the tank holds 13.1 gallons, but i add only 11 everytime i go to the gas station. Do the math.

Recently there was a first page (huge) article in the San Diego newspaper about why american cars suck (not all american cars are bad, but.). The article explained detailed the fact that american cars are usually cheap because they tend to use cheap materials. If yuo buy a Honda, give it the maintenance it needs. It'll last forever.

You are welcome.
Don't buy ANY Honda! The new Honda's are losing reliability. They use cheap quality parts and gas mileage is not what is advertised. Buy a Toyota or Subaru.
U didnt specify if u are asking about a NA Civic, Japan or Euro. If its Euro id advise you to go for a Focus Zetec instead. Its a great performing car, has a huge customer base, well built and drives and handles better than anything in its class. As for America, the Civic probably is a good choice given the competition
they look funny! Prefer the older new type R
Without doubt they are the coolest looking cars on the road right now, not including silly priced super cars.

The fact is, every single car for sale these days is as competent as any other. They all have similar performance, safety, economy etc. There is nothing to choose between them, apart from looks.

The one drawback I have heard about the Civic, is the gearbox change is not as good as others in its class.

Try it out, and if the gearbox is OK for you, go for it.
THEY ARE INCREDIBLE
Bloody Brilliant
I don't own one but I sell them and I think they are really great cars. I'm seriously considering purchasing one myself. They get great gas mileage 30 mpg city and 40 highway, even more if you go with the Hybrid. I like the previous generations exterior better but the interior is much improved. Honda engineers moved the entire cabin forward which creates much more space in the interior. For a compact car, the sedan has lots of legroom in the back. The unique two tier dashboard is really convenient for drivers today who are increasingly distracted by phones, children, other motorists etc. It has all the information you need most on top, right in your line of vision and secondary information on a lower tier. As far as safety, it comes standard with side curtain airbags as well as the front and front side airbags on all trim levels. Civics competitors don't offer that. It rated 5 stars in crash tests. So overall its a great car especially as a second vehicle for a family or a first car for a teenager or young adult w/o kids.
really nice, but u have to go out and test drive one for urself so u know if u like it or not.
honda make a very good car. only thing wrong with them is if you drive on the interstate the wind blows them around pretty bad. i have an accord 2002
buying the car brand new from the dealer is not worth it because they charge you too much. maybe if you get a good deal in the streets but then again you never know whats wrong with it. i think the civic is a dependable car that gets good milage i dont think the looks are worth that much though. i would recommand an older civic there good cars and it will cost you way cheaper than a brand new one.
The Honda Civic is a great looking car, good gas mileage, very dependable and reliable sedan.
A lot of work has gone into improvements for the new model Civic and the styling is very good. The guys in Swindon do put a lot of effort into ensuring that every car is manufactured and checked to the highest standards. You could do a lot worse than the new Civic and they do drive well.

Try a test drive, it will probably make up your mind for you.

Things to look out for are mainly price and what deals you can get compared with the other makes. As with all Japanese cars the seats can feel a bit hard on a long drive, depends on your preferences. Look out for the new Type R in January!
They have amazing gas mileage and great ratings. Plus it helps that they are so nicely priced. If you want something that's fun and a little sporty go for it! Plus they have a very smooth ride! And with the new digital dash makes it pretty neat to be able to show it off to the friends and family!
The are nice reliable cars, but there are other brands you can look at like the Toyota Corolla, Subaru Impreza are reliable and dependable all hold a good resale value. Honda civic and Subaru Impreza have great safety.
Stay away from Kia or Suzuki.

Depends, what is the first car? I have a civic, and If I got another vehicle it would be the ridgeline truck.
i would deffinately go for a civic. the new one has great safety features. honda has a history for being very reliable. and it comes in some cool models. even an Si sedan, if ur looking for some speed with a little elbow room.
The Civic is a very nice car and it looks great too. Test drive a new 2007 Nissan Sentra, Hyundai Elantra, and Toyota Corolla to get a good perspective. I did and ended up with a Sentra, but you can't go wrong with a Civic.
I have one! My last car was a peugeot 307 hdi which needed a engine rebuild at 8000 miles, due to a faulty injector system.

I traded it straight away for the new civic and havn't looked back.

The only problem i have is that i catch my leg on the dash when i get in, as it seems to sort of jut out a bit!

Other than that. It's the best we have had !
