If yours is cream crackered mate they are bloody marvelous.
Jes's your American spellchecker is crap.
Get a british one for feck sake
not if you've got a perfectly good gearbox,no.
Yes..but before replacing a gearbox with a used one you really need to know its previous use. you could be doing a lot of work to substitute another duff box.also its essential that replacement is exactly the same models all differ, ie gearing ratios, housing connections etc.
make sure it has a warranty and that the company supplying will carry out the work if its no good
get a reconditioned gearbox with a good warranty and you cant go wrong
Gearboxes are usually bought in a scrap yard. Ascertain the history of the car, quite often the car was hit somewhere else . and has nothing to do with the gearbox Check the milage on the scrap car if possible.
Now days in Britain there are a lot of rip off back street Asian mechanics that botch up exchange boxes for a quick killing, go to a reputable rebuild garage & you will be fine, alternativly get a scrap one previous, advise is good.
only to get the car moving
