I have a mk5 2000 fiesta zetec,it has turn key central locking, what does it intail to convert it to remot lock

Answers:
You just need the electrical components that listen for the key fob. The motors for the locks, and a spare weekend.

This is one of those pain in the *** jobs. If it has no alarm, get a top of the line cobra or similar and they'll install the auto locks as well. and as a bonus you get a discount on your insurance
you want to go to your local ford garage, ask at the counter if your car HAS remote central locking (most do),
give them your car registration number/chassis number,
they can put them into there computor and tell you everything about it including if it's just the remote fob thats missing?
if thats the case, all you have to do is buy a new remote and have it programmed to your frequency,
it may not be cheap but it save's you the cost of a new interface/remote/programing!
hope this helps?
I agree - used to sell cars and we had an outside company install alarms which in turn lower insurance premiums and enabled remote locking - prices do vary though so shop around.
should have come with a 3 button remote control key, how many keys did your car come with?
fords have had this on for a good few years now.
