How do I remove the factory stereo from my 2001 Audi A6 Quattro please?
Answers:
Take it to Liverpool or Newcastle, it will soon be taken out..!
you will prob need a removal tool contact your local audi dealer they should sell them or try online
There are two little thin wire arms you should have got with the car they slide down the side and release the catches allowing you to just slide it out,i know it looks like it is moulded in but it isnt if not that then there would be a section maybe a shelf or something that comes out allowing you to get it out from the back.
Everything is awkward on the audis you have to go right round the houses your fan belt goes and the engine has to be dropped do love em thow.
do not try remove this own your own. take it to a professional car audio dealer and let them do the job. doing this own your own may damage the car computer system as happened to my toyota VX.
Does that have the four little slots, two top and two bottom?
I think that's the one, you need a set of removal tools sold by people like enfig.com at the link below and shown in use on the autosys web site in the second link.
There are four catches which need to be pushed inwards, horizontally, towards the middle of the radio
The third link shows the detail of the catch, that's the bottom left and you can see the slot on the front of the radio to the right. I found that the keys were riding over the catches, once I saw how they worked I was able to bend the keys very slightly so they engaged better.
Ah, UK? The electronics offered in the European market are different tha in the US, maybe it's not the same?
Good luck.
WHEN U GET A NEW 1 , ASK the shop where u bought it to fit it! they will hav the tools to take out the old 1, u can get ur new 1 fitted for free at most places when u buy your new 1
ps: buy boose/ Alpine or Panasonic or maybe sony (only abit old 1s)
every thing else id ****
You will have to be very careful as you remove it, because the trim piece tabs may snap. Also you need to have the code, with out it you won't be able to remove it.
