Put diesel in tank ( at least 5 lts ) disconnect at least one injector line and crank over engine. It will soon pump out the air. When you have steady flow with no air bubbles reconnect feeds and the engine will run. May be a bit lumpy for a few seconds. And don't run out again !!!

some transits have a primer on side near filter, you pump this yourselfthen try starting can take a while. if its a self primer you just turn over for about 5-8 sec each time untill it starts.
remove the filter and fill with diesel, then refit and try and start it with your foot on throttle, when it starts give enough throttle for the fuel to start dragging through.
if you have had injectors or the like out then you will need to crack each one in turn while someone cranks the engine for you.
if you remove the fuel line feeding the pump you can also fill the pump direct through the pipe.
