Problems with my rover 416i, for some reason at the most in oppertune time the alarm sounds?

does anyone have the sameproblem with a rovers 416i's central locking system or immobiliser, things like the horn sounding at 1am with no one around.

Answers:
have found this to be a common fault that the door switches are to blame either front or rear ,boot or bonnet best to disconnect all and try overnight
Sounds like it's either over sensitive, or there's a bit of shorting going on in the cabling. That could explain it going of at night. The short might happen when moisture forms.
Used to have the same problem until I found it was cats! They prowl around at night and jump on the bonnet or roof. As soon as the alarm goes off they scarper quick. By the time you look out the window they have gone.

Brush the car with a little flour at night and see if there are any footprints in the morning or when the alarm goes off.

If there is get a shotgun!
