I own a toyota camry 1987, in need of repair, my Q is would you spend £1400 to repair it?
Answers:
Thats not much mileage for a Toyota, has it been thrashed? Do not throw good money away, scrap it for spares and sell them. Use your money as deposit on decent car, these older cars are having trouble getting through the MOT because of the strict emission tests.Forget sentimental, that will not increase your bank account.
no
Spend the mony, less debt to deal with then a new car.
I'd trash it mate, your dad would want you to be driving something nice.
NO,BUY A BMW,BEST CARS IN THE WORLD
buy another car, once 1 thing goes wrong and your epair it, there will be a whole bunch after that to spend.
You could buy a newer car for less than £1400
you know that the 1987 camry is the most stolen car in America
that would be up to you,,if you like it that much i would fix it,,i have had some cars that wasn't worth fixing,,but i did anyway,,and drove them,,and then sold them,,and didn't loose any money on them,,the price your talking about is a lot of money,,but if it does have sentimental value to you,,and you want to keep it,,id say just fix it,,i hope i have helped.
No it is not worth it
If someone is charging you 1400 to repair it they are ripping you off.
I'll sell you my Fiat Brava,,,,it's a bucket of sh ite too
IT IS ONLY UP TO YOU TO MAKE THE DECISION. IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO BUY A GOOD CAR FOR PROPER USE AND IF ON TOP OF THAT IF YOU HAVE EXCESS CASH THAN I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU BETTER GET THAT CAR ON THE ROAD IE HAVE IT REPAIRED AND IF YOU DONT WANT TO KEEP DRIVE IT THAN KEEP IT AS A SOUVENIR.
Nope, the cost outweighs the value of the car, get a replacement second hand car for the £1400!
nope.. spend the money on a Volvo 460.. ( i had one and it did 160,000 ) and is still going ..!
Dont waste your money on a car that is phuked..
This is a tough decision you will have to make.I recommend you should buy another car,the vehicle is 19 years old, once you start fixing ,the repairs will seem to never stop. You can buy a used vehicle that is newer and reliable.I know it has sentimental value,in this case I would maybe hold on to it and try doing your own repairs in your spare time while you have another vehicle to drive. Good Luck
How does that convert to the American dollar?
Keep it and do it up. It will give you something to do in your spare time, and if you are not a mechanic it will teach you a new skill. Join a Toyota forum, as there are loads of technical advice to read and people who can answer your queries.

i spent 1000 for my repair for like yours so it depends how old is your car and if its 8-10 years old its time to get a new car thats a tip for you. Change your car every 8-15 years or if u want to keep it for "showing off" just repair it.
