I have a ford escort and have got the key stuck real tight in the lock?any ideas how to get it out?

YOU MIGHT HAVE TO BRACK IT OFF THEN USE A PAIR OF NEEDLENOSE PLYERS THEN TAKE IT TO A LOCK SMITH AND THAY WILL MAKE YOU A NEW ONE THAY CAN EVEN IF ITS BROKE
I beleive there is a button to release the key on the steering column of the Escort.
If there is not,
make sure the vehicle is completely in park (you may need to re-start the car and put it slowly out of park and back in)
Tha should do it,
if not, you will have to take it to a garage to get the ignition looked at.
Try some graphite. You can get it at any local hardware store.
Try WD40 and keep wriggling and try turning key at same time .
Put coconut oil mixed with vinegar and leave it for sometime.
If it is due to rust it will get cleared.
Have you tried spraying WD-40 in the key hole? Use a paper clip or something small and sturdy to try to prise it open as far as you can and then spray a bunch in there while trying to wiggle it and lube it the best you can. It may help to let it sit and soak to. Just a thought but it's worth a try.
remove the plastic around the steering column, lie on your back and look underneath the ignition lock. youll see two blank headed screws, these are called shear bolts, as in the head shears off. remove them with a small hammer and a centre punch.remember loosy left, tighty right.
remove the black plastic disk at the other end, (thats how you start it.screwdriver and turn) then go to a locksmith, or a scrapyard. buy your bits and rebuild it. yes, there is a brass button beneath the ignition block to remove the key and barrel in one.but the ign has to be in the correct position. yours isnt.
