Has anyone changed the cambelt on their Octavia - if so, how much did it cost, and at what mileage?

It's about 16 Pounds for the belt and about 300 to have it changed. It needs to be replaced at 60,000 miles to avoid damaging the engine. I've heard as high as 800 to have it done and it's a difficult job to get done correctly.
is that the Octavia multi stich sewing machine, if so i did one once,trapped my finger, now looks like a sheet, :)
