Is it possible to by-pass central locking system( ford fiesta)?

Not completely sure about fiesta but I phoned rover about my boyfriend car an they were able to give me a key code to bypass the central locking and immobiliser. Basically I disconnected the battery and then when I connected it again turned the key in the drivers door the way that rover told me to.may be the same??
