Why are transport costs increasing again? Are they not ripping us off enough?
Answers:
The price of travelling on public transport in London is getting absolutely extortionate - but the reason they keep raising prices is because they're aware that thousands/millions of people depend on this system on a daily basis, to get to work, or school, etc and that they can't do without it. As long as it is cheaper than getting a taxi, then they'll keep raising the prices - fully aware that they've got full control of the whole market, and sadly the public can't do much about it.
They are trying to take the hit that they had on high energy prices and put it on us. Just corporate greed as usual.
Judging by the fact that car use keeps increasing: no, they aren't ripping us off enough yet.
People continue to flood into the country and car travel goes up and up.
So, no, they are not ripping us off enough yet. They will stop when people slow down the use of thier cars.
Most of you probably don't remember the mid 70's when regular gas was pushing $.75 gal and Diesel fuel was selling for $.33 gal..if the oil companies were able to do it then.why can't they do it now??
Because: The current administration and their friends want to keep up the costs to line their pockets. What is most interesting to me is that current gas costs have suddenly gone down.hmmmm.think this has anything to do with the upcoming elections?
YES---we ARE getting ripped off.and it will continue as long as the US populace does NOT insist ---demand --- more fuel efficient & alternative fuel cars
