Daewoo, is anybody having problems with these cars?
Answers:
Problems? That'll be the Daewoo! I had one for a while and modified it by selling it and buying a Honda. Have a look on the links below - there may be help there.
ive got a problem withthe frigging TV
Apart from the Matiz 0.8 and 1.0, the newer 1.2 litre Kalos, and the 6-cylinder Magnus, all Daewoo engines are based on GM Europe (Opel/Vauxhall) units. The 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 engines in Nexia, Cielo, Racer, LeMans, Espero, Lanos, Nubira, Lacetti, Rezzo and Tacuma (and the 1.8 in some versions of Rezzo/Tacuma, and possibly the latest Nubira/Lacetti) are all based on GM Family I engines, so it should be relatively straightforward to fit a 1.4 of 1.6 Vauxhall/Opel unit.
The 1.8 and 2.0 and 2.2 4-cyl engines in Espero, Nubira, Leganza, Magnus, Evanda and the 2.0 in Rezzo/Tacuma are based on GM Family II engines, so a 1.8, 2.0 or 2.2 Vauxhall/Opel unit should be a reasonably easy swap.
The 6-cylinder unit in Magnus/Evanda is Daewoo's own design.
The 0.8 3-cylinder unit in Matiz is based on a Suzuki design, but highly modified. The 1.0 litre in Matiz, and the 1.2 litre in Kalos are based on the 3-cylinder, and are unique to Daewoo.
A lot of the engine problems were the same problems found on some Vauxhall/Opel models (e.g timing belt tensioners failing) because the parts were so similar.
I drive honda and so should you. No probs.
The whole wide world is.
Thats why Chevrolet bought the company and changed the name.
