If you were running on 3cyls would ecu show a fault?

change lead on problem cyl, if no luck test your coil pack or replace it, theyre about £60.00, the ecu should show fault.
that all depends on your make and model try giving more info to us poor souls trying to figure this out

You would not need a ECU fault to tell you that.
The car would run like a bag of spanners on a waltzer.
yes, it MIGHT show mulitple misfires.
or since your dumping a lot of unburnt fuel thru the exhaust it may show a related fault like oxygen sensor ect..
Not necessarily it would as others have said show up as an oxygen sensor fault.Having said that its probably a faulty coil pack.Regards Mick
