Does anoyone know how to get rid of the smell of vomit from the car?

Here's the correct answer. For starters, DO NOT use bleach! Unless, of course, you want some funky spotted tye-dye looking carpet and uphostery. Bleach will ruin it. Vinegar will also, plus instead of the vomit smell, you'll have an even stronger vinegar smell, along with stained carpet.
My first choice would be to steam clean the carpet, which is obviously where your smell's coming from. Any high-end carwash that has a detail shop will do this for you.plan on spending around $50 but that's a lot better than $1000 for new carpet. Don't try doing this yourself with a home carpet steam cleaner. the chemicals it uses could damage the car's carpet, plus it will pump too much fluid into the carpet, and you won't be able to get it all out..then you'll end up with a mildew smell instead of the vomit. Hardly a good tradeoff.
If you are a do-it-yourselfer, you will need to go to a place like auto zone, advance auto parts, etc. and buy a couple cans of foaming carpet/upholstery cleaner that is specifically made for cars. (ask one of their salespeople what they have available). Work it in, let it sit for a minute, then blot it up with a clean towel as per instructions. You might need to do a couple of applications of this to get it all. Vacuum up the rest with a wet vac, let it dry, then spray the carpet with your favorite scent. There is a special Febreeze for automobiles, but there are many good air fresheners out there.
Hope this helped. Don't forget to send the bill to the person who barfed in your car.
vinegar.
get rid of the car
u should take your car to get detailed
take it to a car wash and get it detailed or try bleach
50 air fresheners all over the car and leave the windows open all of the time.
washed it with tide soap
Open the windows and let the car air out.
100% guaranteed, petrol bomb!
Take it to be detailed and deodorized at the CAR WASH!! It'll cost you about 40 bucks, but it works.
a scrub brush a mixture of bleach and landry detergent..
( just a little bleach)
EEWW! In this case you may have the fork up the dough and go to a professional carwash.Or who ever did it should help pay.gross!
Air it in the fresh open - say a countryside - for a long time.
Go to a pet store, and get some "Nature's Miracle". It is used to get pet odors out of carpet & upholstery, but if it will get out dog crap (which it does very well) I assume it will work on puke too.
Good Luck
Try some bleach. Open all the windows and doors and air it out good after the bleach.
have you tried washing them?
try vanish spray it is partically good on steins and fabrics
Charcoal, or if you can get it, activated carbon. It soaks up odours.
Try a product (available in many groceries) called "Citrus Magic". We use it and it works! It is worth $5 to try.
get it valleted and give the bill to the person who puked in your car, approx £30/£40 or loats of detergent and fresh air will get rid of smell
There is a car cleaner called TuffStuff, it comes in a yellow can and is in the automotive section. It works great!! I use it to clean up bad messes on fabric and upholstery and also for everyday cleaning. Plus it doesn't smell bad like vinegar or bleach. It just makes your car smell clean!! I used it when my ex threw up in my car.
Take it to the jet wash and spray the area with car interior shampoo then jetwash the area. Its better if uv got a wet n dry hoover to suck up the excess too but if its a warm day it'll soon dry. If its in the front put the blowers on for an hour or so. Guaranteed to work.
Have you tried pouring the febreze on the affected area? Just sraying it won't get the stuff right into the fabric of the seat or carpet. Open it up, pour it over and leave it to soak in overnight. It means your car will stink of febreze for months but anything's better than sick or sour milk!!
NOOOO!!!! My sister and I were in her BF's truck going to King's Dominion, and we had a little to much to drink. I told him to pull over but he didn't. I up chucked in his truck; in the vents . He recently sold the truck, and the smell was still there.. I was 16 at the time and I'm 36 now..LOL
I had to get my hand held carpet cleaner and clean a few times when my son got sick on a rode trip. Bad thing was we spelled it til we got home LOL.
steam clean the area where the vomit was, if you have washed it and the smell is there it needs to be steamed out. it will eventually go away with the windows open, but takes ages
Ammonia will kill the smell of anything. First make sure you clean the spot really well. No sense trying to deodorize the vomit itself.get rid of it. Then take a spray bottle and put half liquid ammonia and half tap water in it. Shake it up a bit. And spray the whole area where the vomit was until it's soaking.
Be aware that ammonia is very strong smelling. It will make your eyes tear up and your nose run, and your lungs will feel like they're trying to crawl out of your body. Open all the windows on the car, and let it sit until the spot dries. It doesn't take long for the smell of the ammonia to dissipate, and it will take the stink of the vomit with it.
Ammonia is also good for washing clothes that have cat piss or other disgusting things on them. JUST BE SURE YOU NEVER MIX AMMONIA AND BLEACH! Some people have actually died from inhaling the gas that the two mixed ingredients give off.
I would use some warm water with baking soda in it at first, then I would oxi-clean and finally I would use some air fresher and see if that work. I would also leave my car open to get air.
