Hi, I want to buy a car in Germany, and then export it. What is the procedure, what do I need for it ?

Answers:
If you are buying new then do not buy in Germany. Denmark is cheaper as are Spain and Portugal.
Export it to where? The USA? If so you are out of your mind. The car will never be street legal here unless you spend twice what you paid for it to modify it to US safty and emmissions standards.
First answerer is not correct, new vehicles are very expensive here in Spain, same prices as the Uk and less choice..

The only thing is, that if you are importing into the UK, it will be LHD which is not easy on that side of the road, and you may have problems getting it insured competitively price wise
If yu are in the U.K. just ask one of these asylum seekers, the buggers all drive round in german or dutch registered cars, just check this out .
First of all you need to define where you are exporting it to. If you are exporting to another EU country you simply have to drive it to that country.

If you were to buy the car there but not collect it yourself you would have to arrange for the car to be shipped to the relevant European country. Normally the car dealership would arrange this, though you can do it yourself. You would then be likely to incur the following costs: Sea Freight about $400 or higher, Terminal Handling about $150 Documentation fee $20 You would also get issued with a bill of lading you would need to get this to the shipping line within a very short time or you would face rental charges. Some lines give as little as 4 days free on quay. Another concern is that when containers arrive at ports, you are not allowed to go into the main port area. The container has to moved to a safe area and the car removed from the container so that you could drive it home. You should expect to pay about $300 for this If the vehicle is not licensed to be driven originally in Germany you will need to get it licensed in the new country prior to being able to drive it away.

You could try firms such as Uniserve, Global Forwarding or see if the shipping lines would deal with you direct- these include Geest and Maersk.

The cost of a flight to Germany from with in Europe would make it much cheaper to fly over there and pick up the car personally.

Unfortunately I don't know about shipping a car to outside of Europe, but the firms I have listed would be able to advise on that.
To prove legal ownership of a German registered vehicle you have to be in possession of the - Brief - which is a kind of log book. With this you should also get a -Fahrzeugschein - which is the document the driver has to have on his person when using the vehicle. So long as it stays in the European Empire / Union you can register it in it`s new home using these documents with no trouble at all.
Driving in the UK with a left hand drive car is not much fun.
ask forwarding agents for help.
