for starters you'll be looking at a basic induction kit and full exhaust system. K&N are a good make for induction kits but you'll be lucky to see an increase of about 5bhp at most, nothing you can really feel.
A full exhaust system from a company like powerflow will help your engine, especially if you remove and catalytic converters as these are usually the big performance sappers in the exhaust system. you can sometimes buy cat bypass pipes which replace these but you may need to put the catalytic converters back in at mot time so that the car passes its emissions!
My mate had a calibra, make sure you get the cambelt changed when its due, he didnt and ended up killing his engine.
After the basic air filter/exhaust upgrade you can start to look at more serious mods such as turbocharging, which can run into some serious money.
I know 2 people who have had their car superchipped, one an escort cosworth and another a honda civic type r, the cosworth saw an ok improvement and my mate with the honda said he cant feel any difference.
A good idea is to buy a copy of maxpower or fastcar from smiths and take a look at the companies that advertise in there, you might find a tuner close to where you live that can give you the best advice, also do a google search for owners clubs and calibra websites, most of these will be able to give you a good idea of what mods work best for your engine mate.

go to your local garage and ask for an "induction kit" my mate's got one and his car goes like stink!

Start your car and travel due west - then you will be adding about 1,000 mph to your speed!
Anyway why tavel faster than the speed limit, it is a proven fact, the faster you go the more chance of accidents, so therefore the longer it will take!

you need the older 2 litre engine as fitted to the astra gte and cavalier gsi, the ecotecs not really the best.
put throttle boddies on it . to be honest better to sell it and but a quicker model it will work out cheaper get a turbo'd one fit a huge intercooler then get it chiped should go well then. lol
