VW/Skoda clutch problem.?

The clutch has jammed to the floor in my Skoda fabia. Garage hinted that this is a design fault with a lot of VW Golfs and Skoda Fabias. Anyone else heard of this? Thanks in advance.

Answers:
if its a cable clutch on this model i have seen and repaired the pedal boxes on many a polo the metal in them is pure crap and so is the welding - i know the fabia is based on the later polo(02 on) so i`m not sure if this is the same set up. if its a hydraulic clutch it my need to be bled or there is a leak.
Never heard of this problem and our Fabia is faultless
I had a Octavia that i absolutly flogged to death from new and it never missed a beat.

Most reliable car i've ever owned.
Your car has a fluid clutch. (no cable). The clutch master cylinder (90% of the time) or the slave cylinder (10%) is sticking. It needs replaced. Pull the pedal up with your hand until repaired.
