What do they do on a car service?
Answers:
WHEN YOU GET YOUR BILL EVERYTHING SHOULD BE ITEMISED, IF YOU DEAL WITH A REPUTABLE GARAGE YOU SHOULD TRUST WHATS ON THE BILL,I'VE DEALT WITJ MY GARAGE FOR ABOUT 5 YRS,SO I DO O.K.
Normally replace the oil and filters and lube the entire car. Check hoses, belts and top off fluids. Sometimes check and or rotate the tires and put air in tires too.
You will need to be specific.
There is a brake service, tune up service, oil and lube service, tire service, etc.
Thank You.
Depends on what you want! Or depends how many miles you have on the car. Most places change fluids and filters, check air pressure, and most moving and wearable parts. But mostly depends on how much money your willing to spend.
your hand book will have a couple of pages on what each service consists of.
As far as I know: replace oil and oil filter, top up water (anti-freeze/Summer coolant) and screenwash, check brake fluid, change spark plugs and air filter.
And charge you a ruddy fortune to do it.
These days your lucky if they change the oil and give the tyres a once over. If they really hate you they will charge you extra for an engine flush - which is unnecessary on modern engines but does increase profits. They don't even usually give the job to a fully skilled fitter!
That depends on what the manufacturer reccomends for the mileage on your vehicle.
For most makes and models; every 3K miles is reccomended for an oil and filter change. Usually that also includes topping off your fluids and doing a visual inspection of your belts and hoses for cracks or dry rot.
At other intervals (typically 15K 30K 50K) things should be done such as changing spark plugs, air filter, transmission fluid and filter, in cabin micro-filter if there is one..etc.
On modern vehicles it depends on what the manufacturer reccomends, in a main dealership they have the specific service sheets for the vehicle and depending on the mileage they will work from a check list, in the old days it was plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, check lights, brakes etc virtually every are of the car which is why most people combine and mot and a service, these days a bit different for example a merc will tell the technician via the star vega system what it actually needs to have replaced and that goes for the truck to its called time based servicing
Change oil, plugs, filter, cutout points, check fan belts, brakes and lights.
Talk shite to you and charge you loads.
