How many points do you get when you've been done for speeding and how much would the fine be?
Answers:
Frankly its people like him who cause accidents, and KILL others, including children.. They cause increases in insurance for all young people, and should receive a driving ban. There are speed limits for a good reason, and whilst I would have some sympathy for doing 80+ on a motorway, 48 is over 1 1/2 times the limit for the area he was in.
How would you feel if a speeding driver had hit a member of you family, going through a 30 zone at 48mph?
He deserves all he gets, but it will probably not be enough, He should consider himself lucky if he's not charged with dangerous driving.

£60 fine 3 points which stay on your license for 3 years and if want to remove them after this time to get a clean license you have pay again to have them removed unless you move in which case it is done free. That,s what I did I pretended to move back with parents for a month, license wiped clean for free.
3 points if doing under 100 mph
fine is standard £60.00 but if you don't pay in 14 days will be doubled and if you fight in court can be as much as £1,000 fine in some cases even jail

This is the same answer as Sir Benny. He is right.
I got 3 points and £60 fine for doing 47 in a 30 at temporary roadworks (oops).. but I think it can be more if you're driving stupidly fast are are caught by the actual police as you can be done for dangerous driving as well as exceeding the statutory speed limit on a public road (sp30)
