How do i change the dampers on my vw golf?
Answers:
front: jack up car, remove wheel, undo 3X bolts at strut top(under bonnet), remove 2X bolts(after marking position) @ base of strut, remove strut complete, compress spring using spring compressors, undo top central nut, put ever thing in order for reassembly, loosen spring clamps slowly, remove damper.(some are integral with strut others you can split), reassemble in reverse(2X bolts at base of strut line up(this affects your camber)).
rear: from boot remove M10X1.0mm nuts(top of strut(very rare nut thread so don't loose them))(they are under plastic cap(or should be!)), jack up on body not axle, remove wheel, undo horizontal(left->right) bolt(very tight and probably rusty), refit as removal.
hope this helps
any probs contact direct for further assistance.
good luck!
