Changing sidelight bulbs?

Can anyone tell me hoew to remove a defective sidelight bulb on my vauxhall vectra mk1 2.5v6 i assume they must turn to remove but i dont want to break anything

Answers:
The first answer you have is for the HEADLAMP bulb - NOT the sidelamp.

I am not sure, but it may be a push-fit type of bulb, and the sidelamp will NOT be halogen.
rear of headlamp, remove plastic cover. lift the two retaining clips and remove the lamp, (bulb to you) its a H4 halogen.(dont touch the glass with oily dirty hands..it gets really hot and can catch fire)

you can fit the lamp upside down. so be careful. but thats about it. oh, and rebuild it. remember; loosey left, tighty right.
It's probably not defective, just broken. You are right though, it does need replacing.
side light bulb lives just by the headlamp bulb, its a push in plastic holder and uses a capless bulb (501)
on the back of the lamp is two covers - remove the one nearest the grill - you the main beam bulb and in the corner the small side light bulb holder - it is just a push fit - but they do get hot and burn and can stick in position - try to twist the holder to break the seal - carefull as this holder is part of the lamp!
