How many valves?

i got a vauxhall astra 1.6 and i want to know how many valuves it got,it not on log book

Answers:
look under the bonnet if you can see the spark plugs and leads at the front of the engine its got 8 valves, if you can only see a silver cover over the top of the engine then its got 16.
I've got the 1.2 16v Corsa, and I would suspect your Astra will also have 16 valves. Try the links below.
try the manual
If do not say, then problaby must be the simpler version, 4 cilinders, 2 valves per cilinder, 8 valves total.
dependant on year either 8 or 16
Probably 8 valves.
8 valves is standard for a 4 cylinder engine, if it was 16v it would be written somwhere.
If its a 16v motor it would be on the top of the engine, and probably written on the back of the car aswell. If its got one camshaft its 8v, two camshafts and its 16v
