What is a vapor lock and how do you break-it?

Answers:
Some say that vapor locks (air locks) are just a myth. I've always heard that what really happens is that the pump, carburetor, piston, etc., has simply lost it's prime. In other words, there's nothing there for it to pump. Air or vapor has entered the chamber where a fluid should be. The vapor is on one side of the piston and fluid is on the other. The pressure on either side has become so unbalanced that the piston locks up.
Vapor lock is fuel in the line that has turned to vapor. Older cars with carbs are notorious for this. To cure it is to get the fuel lines away from the heat.
Vapor lock in a car happens when the gas cap isn't venting properly.

If the gas cap is on correctly get a new one, they are relatively cheap.

Running without the isn't good either.
if this is in your fuel line than you must move the fuel line away from the engine more.

The Hot engine will make the fuel so hot that it begins to vaporize
when is does this it creates air in the line and vapor locks..
Vapor Lock happens when the fuel boils and turns to air (vapor) the way you break it is to let the car cool down. So if your car won't start still after typing this, vapor lock isn't your concern.
