Caravan Insurance y/n?

Is it a legal requirement to have caravan insurance to tow it on the roads, I know to repalce it etc you need insurance but just to tow an old van for one weekend a year is it worth it, other than to be legal on the roads.

i always assumed, that whilst it was attached to your car, your car insurance covered it! Same with horsebox or trailer. Check your car insurance policy. I HOPE I AM IN THE RIGHT HERE!!
Hi
Well you don't need to hava additional insurance to tow a trailer. I gues a caravan cannot be much different.
Yes - Check out your Car Insurance policy - It might be included but there again - it might not

Anyway having a separate policy for your caravan might cover contents also
I would check with your local police department and if you bring it to another state i would call there Department of motor vehicles they would be able to answer the question best. On a flatbed trailer i don't see a problem with it but on a car dolly or a solid tow bar you might have to have it registered and insured
