Can I find out what happened to a car I used to own?

I used to own a car with an interesting number plate that I would like to trace. Is there any way to do so?

pretend to sell it on ebay, i tried it with an old volswagon camper and it came up with the colours so it must still be on the road. aprat from that dont know bud

You could do an HPI check on it.

You could also check with the DVLA, but you have to have "good reason" for asking. Something along the lines of, it was witness to an accident and I need to contact the driver.

They will probably charge you, but you should get the ownership details.
Well it depends on the circumstances I mean.did you crash the car? Did you walk home pissed (drunk)? Did you get Carjacked?
I mean what happened to it in the first place!?!
