In the UK a naff respray will cost £500-700 at a rubbish bodyshop.
For a profesional respray in a real bodyshop expect to pay £1000-£2500. Remember to ask to see some of thier work before you hand over your hard earned cash. cos a bad shop cannot get it right the first time, they wont get it right the second or third time.

Manufactorers cost can be surprisingly cheap sometime (especially BWM, who just installed a new barrel and key for my moms car and Valet it in and out and then deducted some costs cos a material was aparently still under warenty after 9 years).
Most paint shops will charge about 500 pounds (depending on colour and car type ((re spraying a golf is certainly not goint o compare to re spraying a jaguar)), and the results vary.
Manufactorers may charge slightly more, but then your certain your getting a professional job.

If you are looking for a cheap job look in auto trader.normally they offer resprays from about £250 but you might have to do some preperation yourself. Hope this helps
