Why do I see lorries (in the uk)parked up for the night with the rear doors open and often a full load inside?

Answers:
I'm a trucker.

Its because lorry high jacking is on the increase. If the lorry hasn't got a valuable load or a load worth stealing then the driver leaves the back door open to show the would be thief that there is nothing worth stealing and so saving his own ar*e and the load he is carrying. If the doors are locked then a would be thief would cause damage to the lorry either by breaking open the doors or slicing through the side curtain just to see that the lorry isn't carrying anything worth stealing.
They work so many hours during the day, sometimes they have reached their driving hours and have to take a break. Others are out on the road 5 days and nights per week and go home at weekends. They call this tramping.
usually this is packaging and the wagon has no goods, so indicating to potential robbers that the trailer is not worth breaking into.
The drivers are very trusting?
Never seen that as the driver is responsible for the load. Sounds like the drivers of the lorries you have seen like that are up to no good.
its a trap!
because their boyfriends stopped by.
so people can nick their load without having to wake them up
Perhaps you keep interupting robberies.
Temptation?
The doors are left open to show there is nothin of value inside avoiding costly damage or worse a narcotic gas attack as is on the increase.

The Loads you see would be empty boxes or non desirable loads like paper or packaging.
you must live in a nice area!
The immigrants sneaked out whilst the trucker was sleeping.
To indicate that should somebody have designs on the load that there is nothing worth stealing inside the trailer and therefore it saves any possible damage that maybe done. Insurers are upping their premiums to commercial vehicles in a big way and anything that can be done by operators to prevent damage all helps.
packaging and pallets the lorry has no goods in side its left open to tell potential robbers that the trailer is empty and not worth breaking into it also the drivers can get hurt if they get robbed caz

your see lorries parked up often on dual carriage ways just before they get on the motorway were they have been driving all day they feel tired to carry on the drive onto the motorway so they pull over to sleep. your find most lorries leave their back doors open this is because there showing they have noting inside because they offten get robbed.
You dont!

Its a mirage.

Drivers leave the rear doors open so that any large hedgehogs in the area can safely climb aboard & lay their eggs. I've got an A* GCSE in biology, I know these things!
They park up because they are driving overnight.

I've never seen a lorry with the back doors open though.maybe they were going to be robbed but the load was boring?
