I am buying a BMW 520 diesel. To protect the engine is it worth changing the oil every 10,000 miles?

If that's what BMW recommends 10,000 miles should be good. Most people buy into the scam they should change their oil every 3,000 miles.
the more often you change the oil, the better.. but that often probably isnt necessary i dont think. more like twice that is the norm
or every 6 months what ever comes first
Change the oil using a good synthetic oil - something like Mobil 1 and change the oil every 3000, perhaps a little more if you are doing motorway driving the engine is good for 150,000-200,000 miles at least if driven well, don't rev the engine past 2500 until the temp gauge reads normal
