When People have driving lessons are they?
We were always taught to reverse of the road so that you can drive onto it and see what is comming.
They say driving standardsare tugher but they certainly teach manners
Answers:
I was more taught what I 'should' do, not what I 'shouldn't'.
Though it would be covered in every driving theory book.
However, I only ever heard this from my Dad as a young kid, never forgot it.
There's lots of little laws that nobody bothers with. Consideration on the road is hard to find.
Huh? This is a bit confusing.
If you back on to a main road, you are going more slowly and in the opposite direction of traffic, so that makes little sense.
Yes they teach that you should never reverse into a Main Road, the left reverse round the corner is done from Major to Minor roads and we teach all round observations and to stop when another road user is coming, even Pedestrians.
teaching pupils is all about safe driving, but some people get the making progress bit wrong, ie in a housing area with parked cars and narrow streets but you see people doing 30mph just because they can
Being a driving instructor i am very aware of others on the road and drive as safely as i can
HUH??
I don't know!!!!! Thats probably why ive failed three driving tests!!!!!!!
I hope you are not a driver.
You have really answered the question yourself.
NEVER - EVER reverse your car onto a main road.
That might be a question in the theory test, reversing onto a main road from a minor road, contravenes the Highway Code. If the police saw you do it they could prosecute you for careless driving, similarly if you were to cause a crash while doing it you would be held liable.
