Bmw 316i locks?

can anyone help the alarm on my 1990 316i has stopped working i need to find were you switch it off i have a small key to switch it off but cant find were the switch is the zapper is working but not locking the car cheers

Answers:
Right, now for a sensible answer. The little key you have is the one that turns the alarm off. First look under the bonnett for a black unit, with a connection of wires coming out of it, should be on one of the chassis legs or on the bulk head. You will see a plastic cover which when lifted will show you that the key fits in. Turn it to the off position.
If you can take off the drivers door card as it sounds as if a connection or cable has come undone, hence the alarm works but doesnt operate the central locking. Good luck
. . . is it really worth worrying about - time for a new car surely . . .
if i remember rightly im not sure you can as it might be part of the engine imobiliser system
