Why bother with insurance when your gonna crash anyway, just do what most other young kids who drive crappy £100 cars like their driving the latest Ferrari, don't get insurance and spend the money on something worthwhile like a big noisy exhaust to annoy the hell out of people and impress your girlfriend by buying her some more sweets. Insurance, who needs it?
Oh, please use spell check when your posting on here. People who write as bad as you bug the hell out of me.

I got mine cheap from here they search lots of companies on your behalf.
If that's the way you write questions, the insurance you have been quoted is way too cheap!
Seriously, if you start modding stuff you are not going to get it any cheaper. Even without mods it will be over £1000. So either you forget the whole thing or you just learn to cope with a normal car like everyone else. You'll probably look like less of a twat that way anyhow.
If you modify your car you're insurance will go up.
If you make the car more desirable to thieves or joyriders and more expensive to replace/repair, your insurance company has to charge more to cover themselves for the increased risk.

Put up with a standard, low-group car for a year.
Drive carefully, and earn yourself some no-claims discount (NCD) for next year.

Then you can use the money you've saved on insurance to buy a better car, or improve your existing one, with the knowledge that your NCD means that the insurance cost (even for a slightly higher-risk car) will be less.
You could try starting off with a car that is in a lower insurance group. Alternatively leave it standard for a year or two then start modifying it. A couple of years NCD makes a big difference. By the way I wouldn't worry about putting an aftermarket headunit, bigger speakers and the odd amplifer in the car. Most insurance companies will be fine with that and it won't affect your premium. Bodykits, alloys etc though can get expensive.
Its a nice thought when you are getting your 1st car(cant remember as mine was quite some time ago) and the temptation to mod it and make it more like you want is always there but my advice would be to keep it unmodded for a year till you get some no claims bonus built up. I have seen Quinn,s ad and to be honest with you, £1600 is pretty cheap when you hear of 100,s of other young drivers paying anything from 2 grand up, i dont think you will get much better. Pity you werent female as Quinn will insure them for about half the price of a male driver as stats show them to be significantly less of a risk. Get some no claims bonus built up and then mod until your hearts content or the money runs out. Drive safe.
Why dont you try adding your mum (or another adult female who can drive) onto the policy, just as a named driver not as the main one. In my experience more often than not it reduces the premium quite a bit.

What sort of car are you getting ?
THIS IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL BUT YOU PICK A CHEEP INSURENCE QUOTE AND LIKE AFTER A CUPLE OF MONTHS YOU CALL AND CANCLE IT BUT YOU STILL HAVE THE LITTLE PEICE OF PAPER THAT SAYS THAT YOU HAVE INSURENCE (IF YOU GET PULLED OVER BY THE COPS OR SOMETHING)
Learn to drive properly before You start tuning the engine, You wouldn't want to get wrapped round a tree now, would You?
