Each seat has a sensor that detects when someone is sat in each seat, (front only) even though you had your seatbelt on, was there anthing on the passenger seat. If not get the sensors checked out at a dealers
means the seat belt sensor quit.
It thinks you don't have your seatbelt on.

Yes you probably have a bad connection to your seat belt stalk this is a known problem with Clios.Renault dealer has tec info bulletin on this Regards Mick.
Spray some WD40 into the belt catch and try it again. If not, then you need to get it fixed as it might not deploy the airbag in an accident.
there is a sensor under the seat which detects weight, even if i put my hand on the passenger seat ( the car not the person!) then the light will come on. If there was noting on the seat, check the wire is still attached under the seat and the seat buckle, maybe it has come away
Yes under each seat there is a block connector with a blue wire and orange wire going in and a blue wire and brown wire coming out this block connector is part of the airbag system and the contacts inside always come loose showing a fault by bringing on the light you mentioned if you bring it to a Renault dealer they will use there computer to lock the airbag computer and repair the wiring.if your looking for a cheaper option then any good local mechanic can do the same.either way get it done as your airbags and pretensioners wont work in a crash while there's a fault in the system
