Whats the best thing to take for nerves for my driving test?
Answers:
I was a total wreck while I was learning to drive and had no confidence at all in my ability to pass the test. My first instructor seemed like a pleasant enough man but on the day I was due to take my test for first time after 20 or so lessons he rang up and said he was very sorry but he was no longer giving driving lessons and I could not use his car for the test! I later found out he had been banned for drink driving that very morning.
Needless to say this made me even worse because from then on I had no trust of driving instructors either. Anyway a found a new guy to teach me but it was almost back to square one and I had to have at least another 30 lessons before I would even agree to take the test.
My dear old Mum, bless her, was quite worried about my state of mind on the day of my test. I was in a right state, I had no confidence I was going to pass and my instructor despite putting on a brave face had no confidence I was going to pass either. However unbeknownst to me my mother had been at the Doctor's the previous day on a totally unrelated matter and had mentioned her worries about me to him. He told her to get me to try this an hour before the test and gave her precisely one valium tablet.
Now I had never taken valium before and I haven't taken it since but I swallowed the tablet as instructed one hour before the test and by the time I met the examiner I was calm. It didn't make me feel drowsy or slow my reactions or do anything else unusual it just stopped me worrying and enabled me to perform to the best of my ability. Consequently I passed my test first time and nobody was more surprised than my instructor excpt maybe me.
A double vodka-seven! Jus' don't let them smell the liquor on your breath. Good luck!
a fart bag.
If you need to take anything for nerves for a driving test then you should think twice about driving!
My younger sister failed her test a couple of times at least due to nerves, but she got through her final test with the help of some hynotherapy.Sounds crazy but it helped her to relax and not to get so nervous about the test and she passed her next test wih ease and now has been driving perfectly well for the last couple of years
Chase 2 Somas down with a double shot of rum.
You'll do great!
Take? If your smart I wouldn't take anything but my little *** to the DMV!
Don't take anything! Stay alert..get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, take a nice long shower and wear your favorite tshirt and jeans and tennies.stay loose. Just smile and do your best. The test person knows what you're going through.people understand. The last thing you want to do is alter your judgement..the tester will know.don't do it.
You could try taking some Rescue Remedy for the couple of days before the test. It is a Bach Flower Remedy, completely natural and wont make you drowsy or impare your reactions. Its available in most large chemists and its good at any time of stress to reassure you and help you cope more easily.
Nothing! Just have a nice big breakfast, drink water.. and maybe take a nap like an hour before. Focus on your breathing while you're waiting (that takes your mind of of everything else) and then just relax into it. Once it's over you'll relize it wasn't that big of a deal. The more you relax, the better you'll do. as long as you stay very alert also. Don't worry! Goodluck! Oh yeah, and one more thing. check your mirrors and scan the streets CONSTANTLY.. they'll dock you for that.
You can always try a bribe,as they say money talks.
You simply aren't ready. You need a family memeber to insure you as a named driver, and spend several months doing virtually all the familys' driving. I had seen a good friend of mine have an intensive course and test at the end of the week, he passed, started driving, and had a BIG accident within the month. I spent a long time as a learner - two years, some 27,000 miles. When I took my test, it was a case of 'not being able to get it wrong', and nerves don't come into it. That was 23 years ago, I'm still accident-free, with a clean licence.
Re-think your complete approach to driving.
Nothing just drive you can do it!!!
confidence.
P.S.
a bribe can land your skills in jail and a nice size fine !!!
I say to you do not take anything that could jeopardise your chance of passing, Just go along to your Dr. Feelgood tell him that you are very nervous and ask what he could recomend and I am shure he will come up with something that is safe for you to use and good luck on your test think positive you will make it.
We are all rootin for you
rescue remedy,my driving instructor said it helps and it did,you can get it from boots or any chemist.
About a month before my boyfriends driving test we went to the local health food shop and he recommended some tablets ( their own make) it really did the trick, the first time he took the test nerves got the better of him and with the tablets he was fine.
Good Luck!!
take a calms tablet the night before and one around an hour before your test, my driving instructor recomended this to me as i was really stressed out and 6mnths pregnant when i had my test, it worked and i passed! good luck
Also avoid caffeine and sugar (or any other stimulant) for at least 24 hours before the test. When I was in the Army we would do this before any weapons qualifications and it really improved your scores. I always follow this advice for any sort of manual dexterity challenge and it really helps.
Take deep breaths. Believe it or not, that helps to calm your mind.
Avoid anythng with sugar as it tends to speed up your system. I suggest you eat a healthy meal before hand, that helps to slow a person down, nothing spicy as it may upset a nervous stomach.
Most of all, remember, there is no penalty for failing the test. Nothing bad will happen. You just go home and practice some more and take it again.
Take a mint just before you go on the road test because it helps clear the mind and keep you alert. That alone will help instill some confidence.
Go down to the test area and watch to see where the examiner has the people drive, some of them like to take the same course all the time, just knowing where you are going will help reduce the nervousness.
The key to passing is to have skill and that comes only by practice.
And be most respectful of the examiner, use , "Yes sir, and No sir or ma'am if it is a lady whenever answering a question or responding to an order. He/she might say, "At the next corner, turn left"
You say, "Yes sir, turn left at the next corner."
That impresses them that you are someone who doesn't object to being ordered to do something.
Good luck.
