Yes but not mainstream the closest car to compare is an Audi S4, S6 ,100 quattro turbo or a 200 20V quattro turbo. They are very special cars but have no real following as they only had minimal motor sport success in the USA ( OK Rydell is in your favour ). T5's are a very special car but essentially they are going to be worth more for the engine than any other reason.

So many were produced abd they are a failry ordinary body shape, i have just bout a 97 saab Turbo and its great to drive but i think it will hold its value more than becoming an interesting classic
my wife is swede.we have a 1924 jabob and the only one that we know of still in exsistance.a collectors and classic is two different things.all cars become classics but,not always "collectors"that will depend on preferance on a certain number of people's demand.our jabob is the first model of volvo ever built.although it is definetly surpassed the classic,it is not actually a collectors item but,there are some collectors would have tried to buy it.
Probably not. Collectors items usually are driven by limited production, and this Volvo model would likely be considered common regular production, even though that was the first year for the model re-designation. A quick check on AutoTrader at this moment shows that over 280 of these cars are for sale at this moment on just this one source. Does not sound very rare, and Volvo collectors are more rare in the USA. However, if you seal it up and don't drive it for 30 years, you might get a taker! Assuming you have low miles on it.
