How can i open drivers door which has decided it does not want to let me in that side any more?

this is a 98 vauxhall astra 3 door with imobilizer which now locks with the fob but no longer imobilizes so i guess the two coincide but how do i fix this?

Answers:
Does it still open from the inside, or when you use the key? If so, sounds like a tired central locking solenoid - pull the doorcard off the inside of the door and try and see if anythings jamming it, or there's a wiring problem. If it's dead, get a cheap one from a scrapyard.

If it won't open at all, you've probably killed a linkage somewhere inside the door - again, doorcard off, have a poke around.
it's rather easy to take the iside door panel off and see what the problem is.
Is this a car or piece of military equipment? Immobilizer? Sounds like "star wars"! Get a wrecking bar and rip the piece of **** off!
Find some C4 or even dynamite will do the trick.
you will have to take the inside door panel off and replace the rod that controll the handle.
