When driving through the gears in my focus 1.6zetec i get a pinking noise up to 2000revs,any ideas as to cause

i have replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter and also tried shell optimax fuel,also tried redex and it is still happening.

Sounds like the valve timing is slightly out, Check timing belt or replace it.

I would take it to Ford garage and ask for a diagnosis test of the car, may cost about £30 depends on area, and then replace the part myself, as it maybe an electrical fault that you wouldn't pick up on yourself
Either the timing needs to be fixed or it needs a decoke.
More than likely its the timing. Get a tune up.
