Why do people nick hub caps and when they do that they only nick one or two?

Even more funnier people have started to nick valve caps if your one of those people who do that get a job!!

Answers:
The hub cap gnomes, beacause they can only carry one at a time.
they have got a job.they're valve cap thieves.
coz most people are only missing one hub-cap so they only nick one..simple!
because they're knobcheeses!
Speaking from the point of view of a person who 'nicks' hub caps. I lost one of mine, thus only needing one, I only borrowed one, and one for spare.. making two.
hub caps stick out further.

usually the front hub caps get nick because they are going first to the curb when pulling in..
It's a continuous cycle, they get one nicked, so they nick yours, so you nick someone elses.and so on. Damn annoying tho isn't it. On my old Renault, they were £40 a piece to replace.
I have seen this happening in some urban areas. It is not a new thing - kids on the block used to take them to use as Frisbees.
Today, buying just one hubcap or wheel trim as they are now called, is virtually impossible - they are sold only in sets of four. Some are more expensive than others - try Volvo, where a set will cost you over £100 GBP.
Thus, now they are a 'value' item, kids will take them for profit (and most of these 'kids' are well into their twenty-somethings), OR some car owner who can't afford a new set, will chance getting caught by the law .
Usually to get the 1 or 2 needed for the set, as they have 1 or 2 missing or damged hub caps.

An easy way to deter is with tie wraps to stop them being able to easilly pull them off.
we live out in the sticks dude, bout mile down road is a52 and at the level crossing there could be as many as 10 different ones every week cars hitting the rails at 100mph,if you ever need a certain type! chances are I,ll have one.
