Mondeo blockage?
Answers:
use a 4cm diam. 2m. solid rod and slide it in the exhaust pipe than start the car and rev it, listening for clear passage(loud exhaust) than shut the car off and repeat until it sound like you are ready to race
Oo-er. Might need a new cat.
sorry no idea
The only way I know is to replace it. I have seen converters break apart inside & pieces can plug up the muffler.
Yep,, new cat required.
Simply put, you don't fix blocked catalytic converters. once they are plugged, they are done.
The catalytic converter is an array of honeycomb passages that are coated with a metal that reacts with the NOx emissions in the exhaust, platinum I think. There is no way to physically remove the blockage from the honeycomb array and chemical cleaning pretty much destroys the metal coating that provides the catalytic action.
The Mondeo was never introduced in the United States so pointing you in the right direction was difficult. Ebay.uk has a listing though. check it out:

Good luck!
Replace it. Cats and exhausts corrode from the inside out.
You will be looking at £200 for a new one.
Think of the inside of your cat as breeze block, then take a hammer to it and smash the insides out. They are rubbish technology foisted on an unsuspecting public by a committe of european beaurocrats who should have let us go lean burn!
(I am of course referring to catalytic converters not the feline variety, who under no circumstances should be hit with a hammer when blocked. In these cases see a vet). Catalytic engines used with no cat are very dirty and illegal.
