Does anyone agree that the child fares should be brought back on the buses?

Answers:
Didn't know they had gone. Certainly not in my town
They do have child fares where I live. And senior citizen fares too. And monthly passes for $40. Where do you live? I'm in Kansas City, Missouri.
When we visited London my children travelled for free. Back in our area if I use a bus from my mother's house to town (2 mile trip) a return fee for me, one paying child and one under 5 (non-paying) costs me more than a full day's travel pass in zones 1, 2, 3 & 4.

I can't even get a bus from where I live. I say keep it free and improve the rest of the UK to match London's transport standards.
They do still exist in most places .. but if they dont then they should, it is not fair to expect children to pay the same as adults but then the way some kids behave on the buses, they shouldnt be allowed on at all .

I suspect they took the fares away to stop the arguments that always ensued about the age of a child (usually with screaming mother in tow) .

A simple .. no ID card and you pay the adult fare .. should sort it out.
They never went away in our town! I think bus fares should be cheaper in general!
yes, yes and yes!! i'd already posted a question on this a few days back and alas, the overwhelming agree with us by insisting that kids should pay too. why should there be one rule for them and one for us? this shows the double standards that we face and have in society today
they do have child fares BUT what they class as child needs to change, it shouldnt be child fares it should be student fares. At this time the child fares is only for people under 16 its should be for anyone in full time education, on a 2 3/4 hr bus [due to stop offs etc.] near where i live it costs £12-something for anyone above 16.
How can they possibly be able to pay that if they are in full time education?
