Can i change the engine on my 98 jeep Cherokee from v6 to v8?
Answers:
First off where did you get a 98 jeep Cherokee with a v6? They only came with an in line 4 or in line 6 no V's available. Second you can fit one in there but the uni body is not designed to take the stress of the extra weight and power. In addition Cherokees are not the best at cooling their stock engines so keeping a v8 cool would not be easy. Then you have the rest of the drive train to sort out. Long story short. Possible: Yes. Realistic and usable: NO.
very carefully
yes, but it'll be a ton of work and quite expensive, unless that's the kind of thing you know how to do yourself and think it's fun, just get a jeep with an 8 already in it
who nos give it a go it could only blow up lol
I don't know but have you had a V8 lately? It is good for you.
There is no mechanical reason why not, but don`t you feel that it already burns up enough petrol, to contribute to the green house gases?
P.S. Although I am English, I`m not anti American cars, I also have a Jeep Cherokee, I like them very much, I usually change mine every three years, I have just bought my fourth.
yes you can, you have to fabricate your own motor mounts, trans mount, and have headers custom bent, also use an older v8 that is
carberated,so you wont have to worry about computer problems,
and you have to do some rewiring. i did a 97 jeep it took about 4 months
Not in California,
yes, check out on the web for companies that do engine swaps, cuz there is going to be a lot work involved in doing it. But good luck to you.
