if you don't want to be arrested you do. You should not speed and when in this country, pay attention to and obey the laws.
This one can be funny. If you don't pay it and depending what the level is and where (in which state) you received it you could find yourself with a warrant issued for your detention. next time you go to the US you may have trouble at passport control.
It is not certain ..but ..just to be sure. No one wants to be arrested at passport control for something small.
as long as they dont have your pasport detail at the police station or the hire car company cause if so the next time you enter the US and you passport is scaned it will show an out standing ticket but you probily did,nt scan you iras on the way back to the UK so to them you are still there

By Law it doesent matter where you live, if you get a ticket and your in a rental car, and even if your from out of state or comeing in from out of the country .Sorry you still have to pay up

If you live in the US, then yes, of course you do. If live abroad and received a ticket while vacationing, then I'd suggest staying out of the state where you received the ticket until the statute of limitations expires. You'll have to check on that time limit for your particular state in question. It's usually 5-7 years. If you come back into that state before then and are stopped again, you'll be arrested for failure to pay. Or you can just man up and pay the ticket and not worry about it if you plan to go there again in the near future.

yes. unless you're never coming back. once though i was in hawaii and got a ticket for being a passenger with no seatbelt on. i called the traffic court from the airport, as i was leaving and they
dropped it, i was at the terminal already. but i don't know the severity of your ticket, just call the court before a bench warrant is set on you. then you'll have to pay more, but if you come back to america you'll be arrested and you'll wait for a new court date, you don't want that.

Your best bet is to just pay it and have done with it, esp. if you ever want to return to the States. If you don't pay it, you'll probably have a warrant out for your arrest which would mean you WILL be arrested if you get pulled over again or possibly at the border/security when trying to enter the country. more information is really needed to answer this, but, the only problem you might have if you don't would be if you came back into USA , either with customs, or if you happened to get stopped agian and they checked past record
